Atlantic Lithium Limited has issued a statement express confidence that its Ewoyaa Mining Lease will be ratified following parliamentary consultations, paving the way for Ghana’s first lithium-producing mine to progress in a manner that benefits both investors and local communities.
The statement follows Parliament’s temporary withdrawal of the Mining Lease to allow for further consultation on Ghana’s mining code and the application of royalties.
Atlantic Lithium emphasized that it is actively engaging with the Government to ensure that the project supports national objectives while generating sustainable value.
“The company remains confident that, following parliamentary consultation, the Mining Lease will be ratified and the project can progress in a way that benefits both investors and Ghanaian communities,” Atlantic Lithium said.
The Ewoyaa Lithium Project, Ghana’s most advanced lithium initiative, has already secured key approvals, including a Mining Lease in October 2023, an Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) permit in September 2024, and a Mine Operating Permit in October 2024.
The company also holds a portfolio of lithium tenements across Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, underscoring the company’s broader ambitions in West Africa’s emerging lithium sector.
